Q: What do you mean by Indian Photography?
A: My team and I understand that the Indian subcontinent is rich with cultures and traditions, and the traditions may vary slightly depending on several circumstances. Belonging from India ourselves, we have worked with several different occasions and their corresponding belief systems to have an understanding of the traditions and their progressions. We accommodate our photography and videography to fit the requirements and discussions we have with you well in advance of the occasion with a mutual understanding of the expectations.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: As it is not preferred to charge everyone the same as those clients who have exceptional requirements such as drone shots, large framed photos, videos with special effects, etc., we quote based on your requirements and expectations for the type of event. But rest assured, we have been told that we could have charged more for the quality of photos and videos we delivered. It is that satisfaction that matters more to us than the finances.
Q: Does your studio provide videography services?
A: Yes. Some of the examples for each type of videography are provided on their corresponding pages here on the website. But we’re always available for any questions or specific requirements you may have in this regard.
Q: How do you deliver our photos and videos?
A: As our clients tend to meet us in person to have a better understanding of their requirements, we would like to close the loop in person delivering the photos and videos to ensure their satisfaction. But we understand if they get busy after the events and prefer the content uploaded to the Cloud of their choice, or have us mail them a flash drive with the photos and videos.
Q: When do you deliver our photos and videos?
A: Although we quote 6-8 weeks of delivery time for weddings, and 1-2 weeks for events, we seek to deliver much early because of our workload and any modifications you may expect to the delivered content.
Q: Do you deliver every image you shoot?
A: No, we do not deliver test shots, duplicates, images with the subject not being in the focal range, images with unintended expressions, and any other images that do not convey the photographer’s expected meaning out of a photo. We sometimes have to take a few extra shots of an important occasion to ensure the accuracy of the shot we intended to capture, where we deliver the intended shots but not all the other supporting images.
Q: Do you do destination weddings? What additional fees are associated with destination weddings?
A: Yes. Despite The Elegance Photography being based out of Rochester, NY, we have also performed weddings in Michigan, Iowa, and other locations outside of New York. We include the cost of travel and accommodation in our destination wedding packages when we present them to you.
Q: Does your studio do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, newborn shoots, or other types of photography?
A: Yes, we have experience in many of these fields of photography. Some of the examples are available on this website, but you know that we’re always available to understand your requirements.
Q: What if our ceremony is in a different language?
A: It is very normal for the occasions we shoot to be in a language other than the ones we know. Although we speak Hindi, Telugu, and English, we do understand many other conversations and their intentions for the event. We agree that as Indians we may have different languages and cultures, but it has been the understanding of our differences that allowed us to work together for generations. And we are no different in respecting your values and accommodating your requests.
Q: My venue is very dark. How does your studio handle these situations and can I see samples?
A: Not to worry, as we are equipped with gear and lenses with wide apertures that can handle some of the lowest of the light conditions. We also provide additional lighting (either continuous or flash) in case the available lighting could be enhanced for vivid and well-focused photos.
Q: Do you edit all the photos and videos?
A: Editing or post-processing could be important but not equally for all occasions. We tend to provide basic touch up to the images to correct certain lighting conditions, background content, and any other aspects that distract the viewer from the meaning an image or video is trying to convey.
Q: What if we want any photos with special effects?
A: It is possible to have certain effects added to photos, and as it is subjective to what effects enhance the quality and meaning of that particular image, it shall be discussed in advance if the outcome is more valuable than the effort.
Q: Is there anything else that you think we need to know?
A: We understand the importance of your wedding or event, and the memories that you expect to collect from it. We do our best to leave you with a smile when we deliver the photos and videos, and we are always available for anything we can help with. We look forward to speaking with you.
